Should an incorrect ISBN found in the resource still be recorded

Yes! Somebody else with the resource in hand might use that incorrect ISBN to search for your record, so it’s best for access if the number is in there.

To back that up with a rule, RDA 2.15.1.6 on Incorrect identifiers says “If an identifier is known to be incorrectly represented in the resource, record the number as it appears. Indicate that the number is incorrect,
cancelled, or invalid, as appropriate.“

In MARC, we indicate this by putting the incorrect ISBN in 020 ǂz. If the ISBN is not for the resource you’re cataloging, but rather for a related resource, you can indicate that too in a ǂq:

020 __ ‡z 9781410440921 ‡q (large print)

To authorize the secretary of the Navy to construct a T tunnel as a means of communication and transportation between San Pedro, Wilmington, Long Beach and Terminal Island, Calif. (H.R. 5006). Mr. King (OCLC #904614435)

The character that appears before the word “tunnel” in this title is not a letter T in the same font, but is more like a shape (sometimes called a “tee” or “down tack”).

The LC-PCC PS for RDA 1.7.5 on Symbols says to use existing characters when this can be done without serious distortion or loss of intelligibility, so I transcribed this in the title proper just using a capital T:

245 10 ǂa To authorize the secretary of the Navy to construct
a T tunnel as a means of communication and transportation between
San Pedro, Wilmington, Long Beach and Terminal Island, Calif.
    (H.R. 5006). Mr. King.

Index of reports, 50th to 75th Congresses, 1888-1938. (OCLC #9796069)

There is a fixed field code for use when a book is an index to bibliographic material other than itself:

Cont: i

This code is not be used when the resource just contains an index to its own contents; there is a fixed field specifically for that:

Indx: 1

Korea annual. (OCLC #1048667)

Titles can be deceiving – this volume (“42nd edition”) from 2013 is the first one published since 2004 (“41st edition”). I was initially unsure if it was part of the same serial (as I could not find an ISSN on it) but the National Library of Korea’s record has them on the same record, with the note “non-published: 2005-2012”.

I edited our local copy accordingly, and replaced our 2004 copy in Reference with the most current version.

The correspondence of Washington Allston / Nathalia Wright, editor. (OCLC #897474403)

RDA 6.2.2.10.2 on Complete Works in a Single Form says to record a conventional collective title as the preferred title for a compilation of works that consists of, or purports to be, the complete works of a person in one particular form (such as their correspondence). In MARC, this is recorded in the 240:

100 1_ ǂa Allston, Washington, ǂd 1779-1843.
240 10 ǂa Correspondence

The title of the particular manifestation is also recorded, in the 245:

245 14 ǂa The correspondence of Washington Allston /

BONUS FRIDAY THE 13TH POST!

The puppet master : an inquiry into Sun Myung Moon and the Unification Church / J. Isamu Yamamoto. (OCLC #3186402)

The Library of Congress Control Number (LCCN) may appear on resources in different forms, but can be normalized to a canonical form.

This title’s LCCN appears on the title page verso as:

76-55622

representing a year (1976) and a number assigned serially (this was the 55622nd title to receive an LCCN that year). This identifier is normalized by left-padding the serial number with zeros until it is six digits (055622) and removing the hyphen:

76055622

When LCCNs (in either format) are entered into an 010 in Connexion, their spacing is further normalized (spaces here displayed as _):

010 ___76055622_

Statistics of the presidential and congressional election of … / compiled from official sources … under direction of … clerk of the House of Representatives. (OCLC #11573029)

RDA 2.14.1.3 on recording Frequency (310 in MARC) gives a list of terms which includes “annual”, “biennial”, and “triennial” but has no term matching this serial’s frequency (once every four years). RDA says in that case (when none of the terms is appropriate or sufficiently specific) to record the details in a Note on frequency, which is also recorded in a 310:

310 __ ǂa Quadrennial

The ballad book of John Jacob Niles / with a new introduction by Ron Pen ; decorations by William Barss. (OCLC #904561492)

RDA 3.4.1.7.5 on recording extent of online resources says that when the online resource has a print counterpart, its extent should also be specified. This resource is a digized score, so we look at (RDA 3.4.1.7.5) which covers extent of scores. The print score has extent:

1 score (xxvi, 370 pages)

so the online version has extent:

1 online resource (1 score (xxvi, 370 pages))

La dama del Pleistoceno : muerte en Rancho La Brea / Rubén Benítez. (OCLC #904552759)

This book is not marked with any publication information, only the date and location of manufacture. The Amazon.com page for this title gives the Publisher’s Name as “CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform”, so I recorded this in the publication statement:

264 _1 ǂa [United States?] : ǂb [CreateSpace Independent
    Publishing Platform], ǂc [2015]

Since I found the information outside of the resource itself, I surrounded it with square brackets, as described in RDA 2.2.4.

Witchcraft / by Charles Alva Hoyt ; [edited by Beatrice R. Moore]. (OCLC #6862966)

This expression exists in two manifestations: the print volume we had in hand, and an electronic version at Google Books and HathiTrust (search only).

In MARC, the link between manifestations is recorded in the “additional physical form” field, 776:
