When we bought this title in 1985, it consisted of 5 U-matic videocassettes and a manual. The video is a mock trial (based on an actual case) in which a boy was injured in a farm machinery accident. It was designed as a teaching aid for journalism students learning to report on trials. We no longer have the cassettes (or a way to play them in the library), and though the manual (likely) contains the full script of the tapes, it is not as useful for its intended purpose.

This title was on the problem shelf as an envelope containing the contents of two disbound volumes (now just a stack of paper). We already have an intact copy in special collections, and a microfilm copy for which we created the OCLC master record – my suspicion is that the copy I have in hand is the one that was filmed! The selector did not want to add it back to the collection as an additional print copy, as it is now in such poor condition.

Genomic XML viewer.
Based on the demo that ran when I (against my better judgment) put this mysterious CD into my workstation, the LabBook Genomic XML Viewer looked like some pretty sweet software in 2001-2002. Unfortunately, the download button does nothing, and LabBook.com (which “powered” the software) is now a parked GoDaddy page (registrant in Hyderabad).

I always feel weird assigning the topical subject heading “Short stories” to collections of short stories (it seems more like a form/genre) but the scope note is quite clear about the usage:
Here are entered collections of stories. Works on the short story as a literary form and on the art of short story writing are entered under Short story.
This title is about a literary form similar to the short story (minificción, similar to flash fiction) which does not yet have a specific LCSH term, so I did the subject cataloging as:

Print dissertations are not considered published, and for unpublished materials, date of production is a core element. RDA says “If the date of production appears on the source of information in more than one calendar, only the date in the calendar preferred by the agency preparing the description is required.”
The date appears on this piece in both the Gregorian calendar (January 2012 A.D.) and the Islamic calendar (Safar 1433 A.H.) RDA 2.7.6.3 does say that (if you record more than one), dates should be recorded in the order they appear.
ISBD 4.3.4 says “When dates in different calendars appear on a resource, all dates are given, separated by a space, equals sign, space” so my production statement looks like:

This video was requested by one of our patrons through interlibrary loan. As other libraries can be weird about lending media, we find that it can be quicker and cost-equivalent to just purchase the requested title – so that is exactly what we do if the title is available for purchase, and can be shipped quickly at a reasonable cost.

RDA 1.7.3 on punctuation for transcribed elements says to transcribe punctuation as it appears on the source, with an exception to omit punctuation that separates data to be recorded as one element from data to be recorded as a different element.
I consider “Sábato” to be the title proper and “historia y apocalypsis” to be other title information, so the full stop between them is omitted. When encoding our description with ISBD punctuation, these two are separated with a colon. (In ISBD description, a full stop preceding the second element would make it appear more like a dependent title.)

Do you have any piles of mysterious work that have been lurking on a nearby shelf so long that nobody remembers why they are there? Today I am attacking one of those!
This bound pamphlet looked straight-forward enough: clear cover title, call number on the cover, barcode in the back – but the cover of the pamphlet actually contains no pages!
On the shelf under that call number was another pamphlet binding that now contains the pamphlet’s contents. It also has its own barcode too; in fact, both barcodes are attached to the same item in Voyager (one inactive).
I removed the cover’s barcode from Voyager, and discarded that item, after marking out the barcode sticker and call number so that it does not get rescued from the trash and returned to the book drop.
